She

She

She looks in the mirror

She looks at herself

She looks healthy

She looks youthful

No! Her face is ugly

Her skin is dark

She is fat

She is short

She doesn’t fit into the “ideal beauty” standard

She looks in the mirror

She looks at herself

She is an independent woman

She is a hardworking woman

She is a confident woman

She believes in herself

She maintains her self-respect

No! She is rude

She talks freely; she laughs freely

Her thoughts are too free; her life is unruled

She doesn’t fit into the “ideal woman” standard

She looks in the mirror

She looks at herself

She smiles, she laughs

She praises herself

She appreciates herself

Finally, she broke the chain

Finally she is free

Now, she has become a human

Not just a woman
