The Scrabble Association of Goa conducted the Goa Regional Finals of the School Scrabble Championships on 27 October 2026. The tournament featured 18 selected students representing seven schools from across the state.


In the Senior Division (Classes VII-VIII), Siddhanth Singh of The Gera School, Old Goa emerged as champion, while Nia Mahatme of St. Andrew’s ICSE School, Vasco finished as runner-up. Both students have qualified to represent Goa at the All India School Scrabble Championship 2026 to be held in Bengaluru.


The remaining top finishers in the Senior Division were:

  • 3rd Place: Michael Falcao (Don Bosco High School, Panaji)
  • 4th Place: Sakshan Salelkar (Dr. K. B. Hedgewar Vidyamandir, Sankhali)
  • 5th Place: Piyush Das (Our Lady of Rosary High School, Fatorda)
    In the Junior Division (Classes V-VI), Nirmay Gaur of The Gera School claimed the championship title, while H. Sriram of Mount Litera Zee School, Mormugao secured second place. Both players have qualified for the national finals in Bengaluru.

    The other leading performers in the Junior Division were:
  • 3rd Place: Neil John Paul (St. Andrew’s ICSE School)
  • 4th Place: Shivanshi Gupta (J. A. Chopdekar Memorial Government High School, Pernem)
  • 5th Place: Anaida Powar (Mount Litera Zee School)

    The top 3 players received trophies, and all players finishing in the top five received Merit Certificates in recognition of their outstanding performances.

    This year marks the inaugural edition of the School Scrabble Championships, which will now be conducted as an annual event. The championship is part of a nationwide initiative by the Scrabble Association of India to promote Scrabble in schools and encourage the development of vocabulary, numeracy, reasoning, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills among students.
