I am a road with silent scars,
Carrying countless dreams beneath the stars.
Don’t judge my wounded face,
I still help every soul reach their place.
When people are hurt they are comforted with care,
But my potholes know every pain of despair
People’s tears are noticed and softly wiped away,
While I hide my silent pain every single day.
Every living soul finds time to rest,
Nature wraps them in comfort nest.
But why I remain beneath every feet,
Serving every traveller I meet.
I guide your steps through day and night,
Helping every traveller find their light.
Yet wrappers waste and careless stains you leave on me behind,
As if my sacred heart does not feel pain
Why all leave me in shivers, dirty and slain?
Is a little care too much to gain?
A crumbling road still lights the way,
Though storms may come day after day.
It teaches us to stand up tall
And never give up even after A Big Fall.
