The only heart I love breaking is mine.
Afraid of shadows but not the dark,
Messages get delivered but never read.
Don’t break a sweat till you stop my train of thought.
No longer did I build castles on sand.
I knew you’d miss me once the moment died.
I knew to love would be to lose my mind.
Waiting patiently, till the lust expires.
Speechless gods, too afraid to know what to say.
Toss the pebbles across the lakes, let the water stir my silent cries.
White horses turn to ashes, in search of true love.
Bloodshed, hearts shattered in a blood-soaked river.
Losing countless wars that I never choose to fight for.
Story’s over moons ago, under the graveyard with fevered thoughts.
Then, why am I still writing pages,
Taking every moment, to taste it.
Alone, in centerfold, hitting every key to your beat playing it cool.
First dance with someone, not me,
Looking around, sighing in starvation for your validations since day one.
Love and dreams escape, out of the painful exit of my room.
Whispers turn away, it’s okay, the echoes stay.
Too blind to know, to pick the pages.
Just say the word and I’ll stay.
But you didn’t cause,
You never cared.
