Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir, Ponda will commence hosting programmes from December 19 starting with the 12th all-Goa Women’s fugdi competition to be held between December 19 and December 27, announced art and culture minister and chairman of Kala Mandir, Govind Gaude. Following the fugdi competition, the sixth all-Goa women’s musical drama competition and the first all-Goa historical drama competition will be held in the month of January adhering to COVID-19 SOPs, he further informed.
Providing details of the events planned, Gaude stated that the primary round of the fugdi competition will be held till December 24 and the final round will be held till December 27. Entry to the competition will be restricted to only 100 groups with preference given on a first-come first-serve basis, wherein groups will have to submit their forms before November 25 with an entry fee of `100. Forms will be available in Kala Mandir Ponda, Ravindra Bhavan, Sanquelim and Margao. For this competition, a total amount of over `1 lakh is at stake.
The sixth women’s musical drama competition will be held from January 5 to January 17. For this competition, a total amount of `1.5 lakh is at stake. Forms for the competition are available at Kala Mandir, Ponda and participants will have to submit their forms on or before December 18.
The first all-Goa Historical Drama competition will be held from January 20 to February 8 wherein only 15 to 20 groups will be given a chance to participate on a first-come first-serve basis. For this competition, a total amount of `1.6 lakh is at stake. To participate in this event, interested groups will have to submit their entries before January 10, informed the organisers.
