A new social beach club-cum-dining space, Yazu, launched at Marquis Beach Resort, Candolim recently. The place is the brainchild of three restaurateurs, Gurmeet Arora, Ranbir Nagpal and Atul Chopra
Targeted at the eating out crowd who love to relax at beaches, the beach club promises to serve as good food as it looks. The menu according to the three promoters is a reflection of their convergence on the same point “love for good food.” Its focus is on recipes brought alive by delicately balancing tradition and modernity with fresh ingredients from the local markets. The menu is extensive and also gives attention to detail right from presentation to the optimal use of quality ingredients.
Architect Ashish Kambli is responsible for the classy yet relaxing pan Asian interiors designed somewhat on the lines of a shack, while the head chef is Karma Tenpa.
“Yazu is not just a fine dining place. It demands that people come and blend into the place because of the spot-on location right on Candolim Beach and as part of a beautiful property. One should come, relax, drink and enjoy the pan Asian food, sip on fresh cocktails and dive into the beach view,” said the promoters.
Constructed at three level the place can accommodate approximately 85 seaters plus it also has a beautiful lawn right outside which can accommodate more than 100 people.
Of the promoters, Arora is the entrepreneurial brain behind brands such as Tryst, Doppio, Soi 69, Flax and more, Nagpal is a hotel management graduate, who has run his family business of real estate, dairy products and ice-creams while Chopra is the previous owner of Three Wise Men, a bar.
