The National Institute of HRD & Advancement, (NIHA), Delhi, conducted a training workshop for officials of various government departments. The four-day workshop held from October 10-13 had as participants officials from organisations such as, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam, Indian Oil Corp, Delhi Development Authority, among others. The workshop was inaugurated by BT Boke, former chief general manager, HR, Dempo Group.
“The training will help the employees learn skill development techniques and understand responsibility through effective planning, proper motivation, timely delivery beside uncompromising character and discipline,” said Boke.
On the panel who addressed participants were Sanjay Sharma, director NIHA, SA Deshprabhu, former Chief Labour Commissioner, Goa. “In a world of constant change, learning and effectiveness are crucial to organizational success”, said Sharma. He said that, as per research few government departments indulge their employees in external training programmes where they can imbibe lessons from multi-talented professionals.
Experiences and challenges confronting women at work was one of the key modules at the workshop. “With the rise in the number of women at workplace and the associated government initiative to induct more women in various departments, it has become imperative to sensitize the existing workforce on various issues related to gender rights and possible discrimination at workplace,” added Sharma.
