Women urged to take up business

Women aspiring for business benefitted from a talk on entrepreneurship organised by Mumbai based Aamhi Udyogini Pratishthan (AUP) Dadar in collaboration with the Margao Mahila Mandal. Founder member and president of AUP,  Meenaltai Mohadikar was present at the event with Usha Pathak, local convener of AUP, Ranjita Pai, president, Mahila Mandal and officials of Bank of India, Arun Mendon and Pavan Kulkarni.

Promising support to women in their endeavors, Pathak, said that, women should continue to dream to prove themselves. They should start a business and stay dedicated towards it. Women were informed on financial help and loans granted by banks under different schemes. They were educated about the eligibility criteria and other requirements for loan application. Meenaltai briefed participants on Udyog Adhar Card and its importance. On the occasion, Udyogini awardee Sunita Gaunekar shared her experiences related to her business.

The Margao Mahila Mandal promotes women empowerment by conducting training programmes, competitions and lectures on issues affecting women. It has around 250 active members.
