Thirteen finalists from Goa will be competing for The Miss International Goa crown. The winner of the said pageant will be given an opportunity to participate at the national level pageant, and will represent Goa at the Miss India International which is scheduled to take place next month in Jaipur.
Miss India International 2018, Tanishqa Bhosle will be the chief guest and main judge at the pageant. The jury will comprise Rajesh Dempo, Prasad Pankar, Shweta Verlekar, Heather Fernandes and Kevin D’Mello.
In her address, Bhosle said that she is excited to be part of the event and encouraged the participants to give it their all. “I expect girls not to be pretentious and just be themselves. I’m looking for girls that are confident and know how to carry themselves,” said Bhosle emphasising that The Miss International Goa is not a model hunt but a pageant. “We’re looking for girls who can handle the responsibility of representing India at an International level,” she added.
Managing director, Media Waves, Thasveer Salim said that this opportunity is a platform for Goan girls to display their talents. “Miss International Goa is taking place for the first time in Goa, and I’m looking forward for a great finale, consider this the first step to international pageantry world,” said Salim.
The contestants for the pageant are Amanda Vas, Arhana Feroz, Diana Mathews, Grishma, Naaznin Xec, Divya Valvaikar, Kusum Madgaonkar, Roji Raj, Sneja Naik, Gloann Carvalho, Wanisha Sharma, Sumaiyya Shaikh and Kushboo.
The pageant will comprise of two rounds of Indian and western outfits comprising ethnic wear and evening gowns. The costumes will be designed by Anusha Sheikh while Farrah Lobo will be the official makeup artist for the pageant.
