Panaji: Three more accused have been arrested by the Panaji police in the case of theft of gold ornaments worth around Rs 30 lakh. Police have also apprehended the 10 year old minor boy who was reportedly involved in the crime. The accused arrested are Rajesh Sisodia (30), Amitsingh Sisodiya (30) and the father of the minor boy and have been remanded to 5 days police custody. While the minor boy has been lodged in the state run protective home at Merces. They were traced at a location in Madhya Pradesh. Earlier police had arrested Savant Sisodiya.
The accused are part of a gang which targets wedding venues with the help of minor boys police said adding that the stolen gold ornaments are yet to be recovered. Last week the gold ornaments were stolen during a wedding reception at a venue in the city. The gold ornaments were kept in a bag, said the police referring to the complaint lodged by Gurunath Pai. Based on the CCTV footage and intelligence gathered police managed to identify the accused Savant Sisodiya, who was seen along with the minor boy. Referring to the CCTV footage, the police said that the boy was seen lifting the bag reportedly containing the gold ornaments. The boy later walks away with the man, said police.
