Village panchayats provided aid for maintenance of white water rafting

Ahead of the annual white water rafting activity during the monsoons, the Goa Tourism Development  Corporation, presented cheques to  village panchayats of Nagargao  and Savordem towards up-keep and  maintenance  of the areas around  the vicinity of the rafting activity.

Nilesh Cabral, chairman, GTDC presented a cheque of Rs 50,000 to Parag Khadilkar, sarpanch, Nagargao village and two cheques of Rs 50,000 each for the years 2017 and 2018 to Ashok Chari, sarpanch, Savordem village.  The cheques were presented in the presence of John Pollard, Southern River Adventures and Sports at Paryatan Bhavan, Panaji.

Extending his gratitude and appreciation to the village panchayats  of Nagargao  and Savordem for supporting the monsoon adventure activity in Mhadei river, Cabral said “The white water rafting activity has been a huge success during the last six years due to the efforts put in by John Pollard and the GTDC with the support of the local bodies.”

Each year thousands of thousands of tourists arrive for white water rafting to experience the rides and  rapids in the  river waters of Mhadei.
