Varun Agarwal inspires students at ‘LAKSHYA 9.0’

‘LAKSHYA’, a National Level Annual Management event hosted by the BBA students of Department of Business Administration, MES college of Arts and Commerce, Zuarinagar, was held at Ravindra Bhavan, Baina on January 15 and January 16. The event saw participation of college students from and outside Goa.  The out station colleges that participated were St Alloysius- Mangalore, Bhartesh College- Belgaum, KLE CIBAL– Belgaum, and Jain College -Belgaum. Saraswat College (SCCCMS) – Mapusa won the Overall winners’ trophy. St Aloysius College- Mangalore followed as the Runners Up. This Event running into its 9th year was a grand success and was received very well by students of business administration.

This year the icing on the cake was the ‘Knowledge session’, an interactive talk, by film maker, entrepreneur and author Varun Agarwal, who has three companies to his credit – namely– Alma Mater, Reticular and Last Minute Films. His achievements at the age of 28 years won him “The Young Achiever Award – 2013” by The Rotary International.

Agarwal’s discourse was an inspiration to students and parents present. He shared his battles and his success story and said that to be successful, one must be passionate about whatever one wants to do in life .He advised that if one wants to follow a career path other than what one’s parents would want for you, be the best at it to show your parents so that they can appreciate it and assist one in that path.  He also encouraged students “not to get scared of anyone” but to believe in their convictions. He has authored the book “How I Braved Anu Aunty and Co-Founded A Million Dollar Company”.

The event was coordinated by co-ordinator of BBA course Semele Sardesai, student co-ordinator Abrar Sayyed and student co co-ordinator Rohit Thorat. Principal R B Patil gave the welcome speech and declared the event open. The programme was jointly compered by students of SYBBA Rebher Ansari, Rakhi Jain, Simron Shah, Ajin Kumar and Anam Khan, while Sanchita Shirodkar proposed the vote of thanks.
