Unlicensed teen driver knocks down 2 at Balli

MARGAO: Two pedestrians including a 16-year-old student was injured after they were knocked down by a 19-year-old driver having no valid license at Pattem, Balli. 

According to Cuncolim police, Saliston Salu D’costa (16) a student and Rusada Fernandes (52) both of Pattem, Balli, were injured in the accident.

Police said that based on the complaint an offence under Section 279, 337 of IPC and Section 3 of M V Act has been registered.

Cuncolim police said that S Arondekar has lodged his complaint on behalf of the state that at Pattem, Balli, the alleged accused Divank Satwani (19) of F1-20, 21 Sector-II, Rohini, Delhi, driver of Mahindra  Thar Jeep bearing registration number GA-03-P-5837, drove the vehicle in a rash and negligent manner endangering human life, without a valid driving license, while proceeding from Canacona towards Margao.NT

When reaching Pattem, Balli, he dashed pedestrians Saliston D’Costa and Rusada Fernandes, both residents of Pattem, Balli, and causing injuries to them. Police said that both the injured were given medical treatment and their statements have been recorded.

Police said that after the accident a panchanama was conducted and the jeep was seized. Further investigation is in progress.
