Two Russian National arrested for assaulting police personnel

Mapusa: Anjuna police arrested two Russian national for disobeying quarantine rules and for assaulting on duty police personnel attached to Anjuna police station. Both accused are remanded to14 days judicial custody by Mapusa court.

According to Anjuna police a state complaint was lodged by PI Suraj Gawas against two foreigners identified as Stanislav Stepanov,30 and Mikhail Orlov,30 both Russian national and are currently residing at Morjim in Pernem for allegedly violating order of District collector restricting movement of vehicles and disobeying quarantine rules.

Police said that when complainant and his staff questioned duo about why there are moving around, both accused abused complainant and his staff and pushed them. Police further added that accused Mikhail Orlov further assaulted on duty staff Shrikrishna Redkar with lathi on his left-hand forearm and caused injuries to him.

In this connection Anjuna police has registered offence under section 188, 271, 353 read with 34 of Indian penal code against both Russian national and arrested them.

Police further also booked owner of renta bike bearing registration number GA 11 F 1182 for renting his private scooter to accused and allowing them to move out during lock down.
