Ponda: In a fight between the workers of two container trucks belonging to an Uttarakhand based transport company, the cleaner of one truck stabbed the driver and cleaner of another truck on Wednesday evening at Dhavali resulting in the death of the driver, while the cleaner survived with grievous injuries.
In this case the Ponda police have managed to detain the accused cleaner Krishna Kumar Yadav (26) a native of Alwar, Rajasthan, who had fled with the truck after the stabbing incident.
The deceased driver is identified as Dinesh Kumar (30) and the injured cleaner as Vinod Gyanwar (24) both natives of Uttar Pradesh, who have been admitted to the Goa Medical College at Bambolim for treatment, informed Ponda DySP Nelson Albuquerque while addressing the press.
As per information, the incident occurred at around 5.30 pm on the Farmagudi Dhavali bypass road, on the under construction stretch near Dhavali junction, where both trucks were parked.
As both trucks belong to the same transport company Patanjali Parivahan, the driver and the cleaners had a heated argument which turned into a scuffle.
Ponda police inspector Mohan Gaude and his team managed to nab the accused cleaner with the container truck at Usgao, who was on the run after the incident. According to sources, the fleeing cleaner met with an accident at Usgao with a two- wheeler, and was nabbed with half an hour, said police.
Panchanama of the spot has been conducted in the presence of forensic experts and the body of the deceased driver has been sent for autopsy. Further investigation is in
