NCC Naval Division of MES College of Arts and Commerce, Zuarinagar organised a trekking programme for its second and third year cadets to Tamdhi Surla, Sanguem.
The trekking was organised as part of NCC training to inculcate a spirit of adventure, explorative inquisitiveness, develop stamina, endurance, discipline, courage, determination, comradeship, leadership leading to development of self-confidence, team spirit amongst NCC cadets.
The journey started from KTC Bust stand Vasco where all cadets gathered together for trekking. The cadets were fascinated by observing the 12th Century Lord Mahadev Temple. The intricate carvings of the interior and the sides of the building were the major attractiveness of the temple.
After visit to the temple, the cadets walked in dense forest and waded throughspring water to reach at Surla water fall. The cadets covered the distance of 5 kilometres to reach at waterfall. It was a challenging climb for most but all managed to accomplish the goal with sheer grit and vigour.
The cadets also visited Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary and Satpal Arboretum, Mollem. Through this Trek, cadets learned to work as team and compassionand love for nature. Sub Lieutenant Rajesh V Shetgaokar, Associate NCC officer guided the student for the trek.
