Time to improvise

Woodwind virtuoso, Gary Plumley will conduct a one-day workshop ‘Musical Improvisation’ for players of any instrument or singer on February 24, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Garden Central Music Studio at GCMS, Panaji.

Garry is a professional saxophonist since the age of twenty two. He has worked alongside Michael Kiwanuka on his award-winning CD, ‘Going Home’. He has also worked with Sax Appeal and recorded five CDs over  the last twenty five years.

Besides this, he has toured and recorded several CDs with the late Terry Callier and at least 10 CDs with Snowboy and the Latin Section Band.

He has previously worked with artistes like George Michael, Swing Out Sister, Lisa Stansfield, Four Tops and, The Temptations, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas.

In the last few years, Garry has travelled in India and has pursued his interest in the bansuri flute. He has also recorded his own CD ‘Crossing the Water’, which features original composition for clarinet, flutes and saxophones.
