Teachers Day Celebrated at Goa College of Pharmacy

Goa College of Pharmacy celebrated Teacher’s Day with various events that witnessed participation of teachers as well as students of the college. Former principal of the college M G Pai was the chief guest on the occasion. Other dignitaries present included principal of Goa College of Pharmacy Gopalkrishna Rao, HOD of Pharmacology Arun Joshi, HOD of Pharmaceutical Chemistry Sanjay Pai, as well as other teaching and non-teaching staff and students.
In his address Pai said, ‘’Pupils should respect their teachers and make good use of their guidance. Teachers enlighten students with appropriate knowledge to lead a successful life.” He further added that it is the duty of every teacher to tell students the difference between right and wrong.
A poetry recitation competition on the topic ‘My Favourite Teacher’ was held for students. Gauraj Talauliker was the judge. Amole Adkonker of FY BPharm secured first place while Andrea Fernandes of FY MPharm and Sunetra Tarkar of FY BPharm won second and third place, respectively.
Other events included a painting competition for students on the topic ‘Tribute to Teachers’ which was judged by artist Harshada Kerkar. Anisha Naik of Fourth Year BPharm stood first in this competition while second and third place went to Uzma Khan of MPharm and Arshya Kumar of FY BPharm, respectively. The chief guest and a total of ninety-one teaching and non-teaching staff were felicitated by the students’ council on the occasion.
