To celebrate the auspicious festival of the Gudi Padva and ring in the Hindu New Year, Swastik will organize a musical evening for all those who love Marathi music. This is the ninth consecutive year that Swastik will celebrate Gudi Padwa with music. The musical program titled “Man Udhaan Varyache” will be held today, April 9 at Kala Academy’s DMK Auditorium from 6:30 p.m. onwards.
The highlight of this programme is that the songs that are on the schedule are all popular Marathi songs penned down by the ace lyricist – Guru Thakur. These songs will be performed by singers Yogita Chitale and Nachiket Desai from Mumbai who will entertain the audience with their melodious voices.
The evening will also feature an interaction with Guru Thakur who will be interviewed by Yogita Chitale. Guru Thakur is an upcoming and talented lyricist, who has written songs for Marathi movies like Natasamrat, Mee Shivajiraje Bhonsle Boltoy, Timepass, Natarang, Aga Bai Arrecha, Lokmanya – Ek Yugpurush and Lai Bhaari. Some of his popular songs include Man Udhaan Varyache, Vajale ki Baara, Apsara Ali, Mala Ved lagale Premache, Natarang Ubha and Swarg Ha Nava. For over the past eight years, Swastik has invited eminent singers like Suresh Wadkar, Hridaynath Mangeshkar, Devaki Pandit, Rahul deshpande, Bela Shende, Arati Ankalikar, Savani Shende, Swapnil Bandodkar, Amey Date and Shounak Abbhisheki to perform and celebrate Gudi Padwa.
