Suraj panel leaves Hemant and Co in the dark



The Suraj Lotlikar panel swept the opposition panel away winning all the remaining four seats of the 2019-2022 Executive Committees to which elections were held at the Goa Cricket Association (GCA) academy ground in Porvorim on Sunday. Suraj and Shamba Naik had won the post of president and vice president unopposed.

In a contest that looked one sided right from the time elections were declared, the Lotlikar panel won with over 80 per cent of votes.

Twenty-eight-year old Vipul Phadke started the demolition of the rival camp with a delivery that left his opponent Hemant Angle lost. Vipul, who is making his first appearance, polled 78 votes to Hemant’s 24. It was the highest vote the opposition camp could garner.

“The Executive Committee is not going to be of six people but 107. We are going to take everyone together along with us,” new GCA president Suraj Lotlikar said during a press briefing after the results of the elections were
