Acting Goa Cricket Association (GCA) president Suraj Lotlikar filed his nomination for the post of president for the elections to Executive Committee of GCA scheduled for September 22 in the presence of around 65 office bearers of various clubs affiliated to GCA on Wednesday, the last day of filing nominations to the six posts of the Executive Committee.
Elections are to be held for the post of president, secretary, treasurer, vice president, joint secretary and one member. M Modassir is the electoral officer for the election.
The list of nominations filed is to be published by Modassir today and the nominations are to be scrutinised on Friday. Withdrawals are on September 14 and 16.
Suraj, who took over the reins of GCA after the Lodha reforms came in place, has taken most clubs on board during his tenure as acting president of GCA. Suraj was responsible to get the Manohar Parrikar government to allocate land to build the much awaited GCA stadium in Dhargal and is known for his affability.
The GCA witnessed a stream of activity through the day with filing of nominations closing at 4pm. “The list of candidates will be officially announced tomorrow,” a member in the Electoral office told The Navhind Times.
