Students of BITS Pilani Goa plant 80 fruit bearing and medicinal trees


Students of BITS Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus planted 80 saplings of fruit bearing and medicinal trees on the college campus. 

In a massive plantation drive to mark the admission of the new batch, saplings of jackfruit, tamarind, cashew, guava, jamun, belpatra, karanj, terminalis arjuna, cassia fistula and rosewood were planted by students along with their parents. The plantation drive was held in presence of director, professor Raghurama G; associate dean of students’ welfare division, professor Ramesha C K; chief warden, professor Angshuman Sarkar; estate manager, A K Patil; senior technician, Imran Sheikh, and other senior teaching and non-teaching staff of BITS Pilani, Goa.

Plantation was done in areas around the hostels which are occupied by the new students as they will be able to nurture the saplings during their four to five years on campus.
