Student’s of Damodar College get clicking with Pankar

The BCA department of Shree Damodar College of Commerce and Economics, Margao in collaboration with CMYK Academy of Photography organised a six-day add-on certificate course in photography titled ‘Capturing Moments’ from September 4 to September 10.
The course was conducted by photographer Prasad Pankar. A total of twenty-nine students and three staff members attended the course.
During the introductory session, Pankar said that he considered photography to be an art because it allowed for expression of emotions and making of statements through visual subjects. Stressing that the true nature of digital photos lies in the hands of the person behind the lens and the way he/she treats the process he stated that the scientific nature of digital photo lies in the editing and adjustments that photographers carry out through a series of steps.
Topics such as working of the camera, complete know-how of DSLR, exposure, metering system, types of lenses, focusing, panning, composition, portraits in daylight and night photography were covered.
The course helped the students understand the art and science of photography. On-field training and photo-walks provided during the course helped students to gain confidence.
