Stepping up support to MSMEs

Aiming to increase access to bank finance, Bank of India (BOI), Goa, conducted a MSME customer meet under the MSME Support and Outreach Programme. More than 34 entrepreneurs and customer attended the meeting. Stating that MSMEs play an important role in the economy, Prashant Naik, zonal manager, educated participants on the support system under government schemes.  Shripad Shukla, assistant general  manager, Campal branch explained the process of availing various schemes financed by the bank. A power point presentation on prime corporate welcome offer, PSB loans in 59 minutes, interest subvention to MSME and other SME schemes was made for unit owners. Participant queries were addressed by the zonal manager. During the meeting 15 entrepreneurs were given project loans amounting to Rs 8 crore. The meeting ended with vote of thanks proposed by Rohini Pradhan, chief manager. The meeting was coordinated by Sharad Pednekar, SMECC head. It was held at International Center, Dona Paula.
