The teams played a goalless draw during the regulation time.

St Anthony’s SC, Assolda who should have won the final comfortably, were made to rue their missed chances during the regulation time as ultimately it was the Colva outfit that rode their luck to emerge triumphant in the penalty shootout.

Assolda could have got the opening goal inside the first quarter if only striker Vitorino Fernandes’s shot had not struck the post and went out. Colva were chasing shadows throughout the match but Assolda ran out of luck as efforts of Sunny Fernandes, Erfan Edward and Vitorino Fernandes came off the woodwork on five occasions to the utter frustration of the Assolda

supporters.

As the teams failed to break the deadlock in the regulation time, the tie-breaker was applied wherein St Anthony’s SC, Colva proved to be better shooters as they scored through Maxon Fernandes, Balla Hilario and Kabir Khan. For St Anthony’s SC, Assolda only Myron Fernandes could be on target while the shots of Cruz Gomes, Sunny Fernandes and Julio Fernandes went over the bar.
