Department of Information Technology of S S Dempo College of Commerce and Economics, Cujira, organised a one-day State Level workshop for Research Aspirants. The workshop was held with a view to give step-by-step guidance in the research process. It also helped guide aspirants on how to use encyclopaedias, research guides, handbooks, academic databases, formulating research problems and avoiding common English errors while presenting research papers. The workshop also introduced various tools for research and how to avoid plagiarism. The final stage of the workshop introduced a hands-on document preparation system with the use of LATEX.
Resource person was Manish Ratnakar Joshi who has completed his PhD from North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon. He was selected for a post doctoral fellowship by the faculty of computer science, University of New Brunswick, Canada, 2008-2009. He was also awarded a National Award for outstanding efforts in translation of popular science and technology for the year 2018 by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
The workshop was attended by 65 faculty members and research scholars from all over Goa and was coordinated by head of department of information technology, Sangeeta Chakrabarty.
