Three members of a Talaulim-based family, including husband, wife and their 10-year-old child, were grievously injured in a road accident at Kavlem after a speeding vehicle (a SUV) rammed into a scooter on which the trio was travelling. The mishap occurred on Saturday.
The injured were identified as Rudra Talaulikar (45), Manasi Talaulikar (42) and Chinav (10), who have been admitted in Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim.
According to Ponda police, the accident took place at around 3.30 p.m, at Kavlem, near Don Khambyakade. Rudra along with his wife and son was proceeding towards Talaulim via Ponda on their scooter. As they reached Don Khambyakade, a speeding four-wheeler proceeding in opposite direction rammed into their scooter.
The three occupants of the scooter were seriously injured and were rushed to the GMC hospital.
Ponda police have detained driver of the vehicle identified as Vishnu Naik (60), a resident of Dhurbhat. Hawaldar Rohidas Bhomkar is investigating the case.
