Apart from South Indian superstar, Rajinikanth who is all set to grace the opening ceremony of the International Film Festival of India 2019, many popular actors from Telugu and Kannada film industry are all set to attend the closing ceremony of the 50th edition of the mega film festival, which begins in Goa from November 20.
Vijay Devarakonda, the heartthrob of the Telugu film industry; Rakul Preet Singh, who has made a successful crossover from south to Hindi film industry; Rashmika Mandanna, who appears predominantly in Kannada and Telugu films; and Nithya Menen, who was also seen in ‘Mission Mangal’ are all set to attend the mega film event.
Devarakonda and Singh will be in conversation with film critic, Anupama Chopra on November 27, while Menen and Mandanna will be in conversation with film critic, Bharadwaj Rangan on November 28. The actors will talk about setting trends and making an impact all over the country with their work, while discussing their respective journeys. The four actors are also going to be part of the closing ceremony on November 28 evening.
Meanwhile, Japanese filmmaker, Takashi Miike, who has a section at the film festival titled, ‘Filmmaker in Focus’ will attend IFFI 2019 and be in conversation in a session titled, ‘Prolific Filmmaker in the World’.
Brazilian actor, Wagner Moura will also attend the golden jubilee edition of IFFI, and Irish actor, Jonathan Rhys Meyers known for films like ‘Mission: Impossible III’ (2006) and ‘Match Point’ (2005) will be in a panel discussion – titled ‘The Magnificent Artists’ – with Moura. Meyers will further present his film, ‘Marighella’ in the International Competition category.
Hungarian director, Bela Tarr, who directed ‘The Turin Horse’ (2011), is among those who will be present at this film festival.
French actress, Isabelle Huppert, who has been announced the Lifetime Achievement Award at IFFI will also attend the film festival and accept the award in person. Huppert will be talking about the nuances in acting in a Masterclass on ‘The Actor’s Connect’.
The Indian film personalities participating in discussions, at the mega film event include film director, Rohit Shetty in a conversation session: ‘The Hit Machine’; choreographer-turned-director, Farah Khan in a Masterclass: ‘Set Up Masterclass’; actor, Anil Kapoor and film director, Anees Bazmee in a conversation session: ‘Director’s Actor’; and Bengali superstar, Prosenjit Chatterjee in a Masterclass: ‘Nuances of Acting’.
In addition, actress, Taapsee Pannu will participate in a conversation session titled, ‘Women in Lead’, while South Indian composer, Ilaiyaraaja will attend a Masterclass titled, ‘The Musical Maestro’.
