Utpal Parrikar, son of former defence minister Manohar Parrikar, has stated that the Supreme Court decision to dismiss review petitions in the Rafale case is a “learning experience” for Rahul Gandhi.
“#RafaleVerdict is out and I hope this is a good learning experience for @RahulGandhi,” Utpal said in a twitter message on Thursday.
He further said, “I can give benefit of doubt that he (Rahul Gandhi) did all this as part of ill-planned political game, just the way he used visit to my ailing father for politics.”
It may be recalled that Gandhi had paid a courtesy visit to the ailing Parrikar, at his chamber in the state legislative assembly, on January 29, earlier this year. After this visit, Gandhi had claimed, Parrikar told him that he as defence minister was kept in the dark by Prime Minister Narendra Modi about changes made in the Rafale fighter aircraft deal.
Parrikar had immediately denied Gandhi’s claim, further stating that the Congress leader should not misuse a five-minute courtesy visit for drawing political mileage.
