Sanjay Centre organises annual gathering

Sanjay Centre for Special Education, (Porvorim, Curchorim, Vasco) held their annual gathering on the January 24, at the Community Hall, Taleigao. Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly Rajendra Arlekar was the chief guest for the Event. Chairman Guruprasad Pawasker, member secretary Linette Ferrao, headmaster Tatu Kudalkar, board members and PTA president of Porvorim and Vasco Centre were also present at the gathering.

The event began with a beautiful welcome dance performed by the students of Shruti Section (Hearing Impaired children), followed by the lighting of the traditional lamp. Guruprasad acknowledged the achievements of Sanjay Centre. Speaker applauded the staff of Sanjay Centre for endowing their time and hard work to nurture the talent of Special Children.The vote of thanks was presented by the Headmaster Tatu Kudalkar.

The gathering incorporated many traditional dances forms by the children from all three centres. Different forms of dances not only served as a harmonies entertainment, but also served as an homage to the great nation that has enriched the rich yet diverse culture. A fusion dance was performed by Sanjeevani Section Children (Children with Intellectual Disability) which depicted the love and passion towards Sports. The function was not only entertaining but also educating. Many burning issues of the present scenario were raised by the students through the medium of plays and mimes such as; the students from Shraddha Section (Children with LD) staged a street play focusing on the issue of garbage and its harmful effects on the environment, students of Shruti Section through their mime highlighted the importance of saving water.

Students enchanted the audience with their solo singing, and created a trace atmosphere with the spell bounding performances of solo instrument.The event was brought to a delightful conclusion with the traditional Mando sung by students of Shraddha Section.
