Salgaocar FC, YWA Assolna score big wins

FATORDA: Salgaocar FC scored a resounding 5-0 win over United Boys of Ambaulim in the Goa Football Association U-16 League match played at Don Bosco Oratory ground, Fatorda, on Sunday.

Salgaocar opened the scoring in the fourth minute through Beckham Dias. Once up by a goal, Salgaocar played more dominating game and scored their second through Jordan Borges in the fifth minute. Sidney Lucas netted the team’s third in the 17th minute before Jordan scored his brace just before the break. The winners led 4-0 at the breather. Anvil Costa scored the team’s fifth in the 74th minute.

In another match at Ela ground, Dempo Sports Club registered a fluent 3-1 win over Sesa FA.

Both the teams started the match on equal footings but Dempo SC managed to take the lead in the 34th minute through Necio Fernandes. Crossing over, Shreyash Naik doubled the tally in the 43rd minute. The third came through Necio Fernandes. Sesa FA pulled a goal back in the second half added time through Aryan Salunke. At Nagoa ground, Pax of Nagoa received walkover as Verna SC failed to report at the venue.

Meanwhile at Ambelim ground, Youth Welfare Association Assolna beat CRC Chinchinim 1-10. The Assolna team began the scoring in the second minute through Amrash Parwar. Steven Fernandes doubled the tally before Amrash Parwar scored his brace in the 12th minute. Nash Diniz, Steven Fernandes added more two goals before the breather to give his side a 5-0 lead.

Crossing over Amrash scored two more goals and Nash added another.

Larson Rebello scored the consolation for the losing side before Godrey Crasto scored his brace and take the final tally to 10-1.
