Religious fervour has gripped Margao and its vicinity with the famous two-day Dindi festival of Margao set to start on Tuesday. This is the 109th year of the celebrations in Margao. For the first time, the festivities will be held at the newly-built Hari Mandir temple near Adarsh School in Pajifond-Margao.
President of Shree Hari Mandir Devasthan Committee Suhas Kamat said that two eminent devotional singers from Pune – Riva Nattu and Chaitan Kulkarni would be performing during the festival.
Meanwhile, Yuva Sanjivani president Sharmad Raiturkar said that the Dindi festival at Comba will commence from November 20 and will culminate on November 21 with a number of competitions.
Shree Dambabalem Ghodem Cultural Association led by former MLA Damu Naik has announced that it will organise its 14th All Goa Akash Kandil, fruit and vegetable carving competition at the Shree Dambab Chowk, near State Bank of India, Margao on November 21 to coincide with the Dindi festival.
