Record 125 COVID patients cured; 52 fresh cases in Goa

Around 125 COVID patients were declared cured and subsequently discharged from the health facilities across the state on Monday, this being the highest single-day figure in recoveries so far. The state witnessed 52 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.

The confirmed cases of COVID in Goa now stand at 1,813 of which 745 are active, while 1,061 people have recovered; eight COVID patients have succumbed to the deadly disease.

As many as nine of the 52 new cases are from Dharbandora, five from Bicholim and four each from Margao and Ponda.

As per the bulletin issued by the directorate of health services (DHS), the new cases also include two each from Verna, Valpoi and Mandur, while one case each has been reported at Sankhali, Porvorim, Usgao and Khorlim in Mapusa.

According to the DHS, the 745 active cases include 113 persons, who travelled to Goa from outside by road, rail and air; 99 residents of Mangor Hill, while 238 cases are linked to the containment zone in Vasco.

The other locations of the active cases are Curtorim (10), Margao (22), Ambelim (14), Quepem (12), Loutolim (5), Indiranagar Chimbel (28), Navelim (2), Ganganagar Mapusa (7), Sankhali (43), Camrabhat Tonca (7), Canacona (6), Fatorda (2), Porvorim (4), Raia (2), Kundaim (1), Verna (9), Ponda (23), Valpoi (10), Marcel (5), Usgao (6), Bicholim (9), Shiroda (7), Pernem (8), Sanguem (3), Pilar (3), Goa Velha (5), Betki (2), Cortalim (6), Cuncolim (5), Vaddem Vasco (1), Mandur (2), Curca/Shankarwadi (4), Taleigao (1), Dharbandora (1), Pirna Mapusa (1), Nuvem (1), Agassaim (1), Caranzalem (1), Mardol (1), Majorda (1), Thivim(1), Curchorem (1) and Khorlim-Mapusa (1).

The major locations from where cases are surfacing include Zuarinagar (98), Kharewada (31), New Vaddem (60), Morlem (22), Baina (72), Chimbel (52), Headland Sada (70), Curtorim (31) and Balli (23).
