Vasco: The divisional railway manager of South Western Railway (SWR) Hubballi division, Arvind Malkhede has stated that despite ensuing safety parameters by SWR in the critical situation of Covid-19 pandemic, the staff of the railway is working tirelessly for smooth movement of essential commodities across the country.
He was speaking to pressmen after inspecting the safety parameters during his visit to Hubballi- Vasco Da Gama section of SWR in the presence of senior divisional engineer/coordination, P Mahender, senior divisional operations manager, Krishna Chaitanya, senior divisional safety officer, J S Rudraswami, divisional commercial manager, Rajkumar and others.
The divisional railway manager of SWR, Malkhede had an interaction with the essential staff who works tirelessly to ensure smooth movement of essential commodities across the country. He interacted with gangmen, trackmen working over the section and station staff at Londa, Dudhsagar, Sonalium, Sanvordem, Vasco Da Gama.
He emphasized that railway has enormous responsibility of timely transportation of essential commodities during this critical situation.
Appreciating valuable service rendered by the essential staff of the railway, Malkhede underlined the need of taking precautions to curb the spread of virus. He told the staff to wear mask, maintain social distancing and wash hands frequently with soap/handwash/hand sanitizers. He also advised the supervisors to ensure adequate number of protective masks, hand sanitizers, etc. in stock for distributing to essential staff.
