Persistent Systems celebrates 10th Anniversary

PANAJI: Persistent Systems, a global leader in software product and technology development, celebrated the 10th anniversary of its Goa campus today. 2015 also marks the completion of Persistent Systems’ 25 years in the IT business. OnOctober5, Persistent acquired ControlNet to start its operations in Goa. At the time of entering Goa, the campus had approximately 100 employees. Over the years the company’s headcount in Goa has gone up to over 500. The Goa campus has played a pivotal role in the company’s vision to help enterprises on their digital journey.  The technological acumen of the employees at the Goa campus has been on display at Persistent’s internal hackathons like Semicolons where teams from Goa have been winners for the last two years in a row. Wockhardt Hospital’s campaign on ‘healthy heart environment’

PANAJI: Wockhardt Hospital, Goa organised a free campaign on ‘healthy heart environment’ on account of World Heart Day. The campaign was aimed at creating awareness amongst masses on having a healthy lifestyle and diet. The campaign was attended by students, sportsmen, doctors and regular masses who come together to spread the word. A Healthy Heart Mascot by Wockhardt was seen going around the venue for interacting and advising people on a heart healthy environment. The campaign at Wockhardt Hospitals -Goa emphasised upon the benefits of Eating healthy, undertaking physical exercises in any form (yoga, dance and workout) and getting routine medical check-ups done. nt


Shriram Equity & Debt Opportunities  Fund delivers consistent performance

MUMBAI: Shriram Asset Management Company (Shriram AMC) has ambitious plans to grow the mutual fund business and attain leadership in the next 5–7 years time. Shriram AMC has recently infused Rs 10 crore capital to the AMC and proposes to add additional Rs 30 cr in the coming one year.  The maiden offering of the company – Shriram Equity & Debt Opportunities Fund, an open ended equity oriented asset allocation fund has delivered 15.91% since inception outperforming its benchmark and Sensex by a decent margin. In addition, the fund has declared two dividends in less than a year of launch translating to 13% ie Rs 1.30 per unit under dividend plan. Among the peer group, the scheme enjoys the highest portfolio market capitalization of INR 80,000 crore (source- Value Research). The fund is managed by Partha Ray who is an alumnus of IIT – Kharagpur & IIM – Bangalore with a rich experience of over 2 decades in the financial services domain.  The company has introduced a first of its kind feature – ANY DAY SIP effective August 2015, which allows the investor to choose his or her sip date any day from 1 to 30th of a month. Coffee Day Public Issue opens on October 14

MUMBAI: Coffee Day Enterprises Limited (the “Company”), India’s top coffee chain operator, is proposing to open on October 14, a public issue of Equity Shares of Face Value of Rs.10 each (“Equity Shares”) for cash including a share premium aggregating up to Rs.11,500 million (the “Issue”). The Price Band has been fixed from Rs.316 to Rs.328 per Equity Share. The minimum Bid lot is 45 Equity Shares and in multiples of 45 Equity Shares therein. The issue closes on October 16. The Issue comprises a net Issue to the Public (the “Net Issue”) and a reservation of Equity Shares aggregating up to Rs.150 million for subscription by eligible employees (the “Employee Reservation Portion”). The company mulls expansion of its outlets and Kiosks, manufacturing and assembling of vending machines, refurbishing of existing outlets and vending machines and setting up of a new coffee roasting plant.  It has also planned prepayment/repayment of debts and raise corpus fund.  NT


ACGL launches NOVA, new model of  AC coach

VALPOI: Setting a new benchmark in the front engine luxury bus segment Automobile Corporation of Goa Ltd (ACGL) has launched its latest NOVA model on Friday. A high deck 40 seater AC coach built on Ashok Leyland Viking 222 air suspension chassis incorporates high end standard features like premium reclining seats, provision for mounting LCD, engine driven air condition unit, individual AC louvers, reading lamps, dual raised flooring, phone charging ports, large side openable flaps etc. The bus features the concept of under floor (belly) dickey with huge amount of luggage space between the chassis and floor. The NOVA is available on MCV platforms of Tata Motors and Eicher. Briefing on the vehicle optional feature, CEO, OV Ajay said that ACGL is expanding its footprint across the country with a refined bus body building technology and with their new NOVA bus they will gear up for a bigger success.
