Idea launches high-speed 4G LTE services in Goa

PANAJI: Idea Cellular announced the launch of its high speed 4G LTE service across 10 towns of Goa. In addition to the major towns of Panaji, Margao, Vasco and Mapusa, Idea has launched the service in Porvorim, Ponda, Calangute area, Benaulim- Majorda area, Verna and Goa Velha. Expanding rapidly Idea will extend its 4G LTE services to an additional 50 towns in Goa by end of April 2016, taking the total tally to over 60. Idea Cellular in Goa has 7.2 lakh satisfied consumers and offers 2G/3G services across the state, and has now introduced its high speed 4G LTE services. According to Sashi Shankar, Chief Marketing Officer, Idea Cellular, “Idea customers with 4G devices in the region can now start experiencing superfast speeds by simply upgrading their existing SIM cards to new 4G SIM cards”. Joint pain camp at NUSI-Wockhardt hospital

PANAJI: NUSI-Wockhardt Hospital, Goa a multi-speciality hospital is well-known for delivering best medical facilities and patient care in all tertiary care practices. The Department of Joint replacement, Sports medicine and Orthopedic Surgeries at NUSI Wockhardt Hospital is headed by Dr Shreeram Dhakankar and Dr Edwin Araujo.  The hospital will organise a joint pain camp from April 1 – 30. During this camp the hospital will provide patients with free X-ray and doctor consultation.  Dr Shreeram Dhakankar consultant – joint replacement, Sports Medicine and Orthopedic surgery will be available on Monday, Wednesday and Friday on prior appointments at Nusi Wockhardt Hospital. Sanghvi Forging bags new orders worth Rs 12 crore

MUMBAI: Vadodara based Sanghvi Forging and Engineering Ltd. (SFEL) announced that the company has received orders worth Rs 12 crore.  The fresh orders have come in from oil and gas and power sectors. The majority of the orders received by the company are for its new heavy open die forging plant. The Company’s newly started heavy open die forging unit with the capacity of 15000 MTPA has increased the company’s forging capacity fivefold. The new plant is equipped with product, quality approvals from all major industrial sectors i.e. Petrochemicals, Power, Oil and Gas, Defence, Aerospace sectors. Total order book size as on April 13, 2016 is Rs 40 cr and out of this around 75% is domestic and rest is from export orders. NT

 

Goa Biz Fest 2016 focuses on start ups

PANAJI: The Goa Biz Fest 2016 was held at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium, Taleigao, recently. The event had entrepreneurs deliberating on the theme of Start Up, Scale Up and Sprint Up. Speaking at the inaugural function, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar highlighted the importance of wealth creation as without it there is no place for job creation and entrepreneurship. Creation of wealth should be welcome, provided it is through proper ways and only then entrepreneurship will get a boost and employment will be created, he said. Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar was the chief guest for the start up session that included an interesting panel discussion titled ‘Creating Environment for Accelerated Entrepreneurial Growth’. The enlightening discussion was followed up by showcasing the efforts of the GEMS trust in mentoring youth towards business as a career. Gangaram Morajkar receives Dalit Puraskar award

PANAJI: Businessman Gangaram Morajkar is the recipient of the state Dalit Puraskar award. The award was presented to Morajkar on Ambedkar Jayanti day on Thursday. A dalit entrepreneur,  Morajkar  comes from a scheduled caste business family.  He joined his father’s business of supplying leather footwear and uniform articles to military and police during the Portuguese regime in 1950 at the age of 18 and still continues to be in the same government contracting business. Currently he supplies footwear, linen, rainwear etc to various government departments. Morajkar is the chairman of GCCIs consumer affairs society and is active in social service. He represents GCCI on south western railway and  Konkan  Railway Corporation. The Dalit Puraskar is in recognition of his work in the uplift of the SC / OBC community in the state. NT

MAPUSA: The Life Style Shopping Exhibition is underway opposite Carvalho Petrol Pump in Mapusa. There are lot of stalls which varies from all kinds of home, office furniture from oval furniture, kitchenware, sikha home products, prestige,  powermax fitness, sofa sets, imported curtains, shower curtains, solar water heater, door mats, mens wear, health care products and many more. The exhibition is open for the public till April 17 from 10.30 a.m. to 9 p.m. NT
