Panaji: The directorate of education, the State Council of Educational Research and Training-Goa (SCERT-Goa) and the Goa Samagra Shiksha Teacher Education have jointly organised capacity building workshop/ seminar for all the primary teachers from the government as well as the government-aided schools, during the forthcoming Christmas vacation, from December 26 to December 29, in all 12 talukas of the state.
Renowned professor and scientist at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai, Dr Sharad Kale will address the primary teachers at these workshops/ seminars. The Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is expected to attend these events in the capacity of the chief guest.
A DoE representative informed that the particular workshops/ seminars form part of such a series, wherein eminent personalities from various fields will address the primary teachers by giving motivational talks. “We intend to build the capacity in these teachers, with value addition to their teaching skills,” the representative noted.
The workshop/ seminar will be held at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao on December 26 for primary teachers from Ponda, Dharbandora, Sanguem and Canacona talukas, while the same will be organised at Ravindra Bhavan, Sankhali on December 27 for primary teachers from Bicholim, Pernem and Sattari talukas.
The workshop/ seminar will be held at Ravindra Bhavan, Vasco on December 28 for primary teachers from Salcete, Quepem and Mormugao talukas, while the same will be organised at Rajiv Kala Mandir, Ponda on December 29 for primary teachers from Bardez and Tiswadi talukas.
At all places, the workshop/ seminar will be held from 9.30 a.m to 12.30 p.m.
Altogether 741 primary teachers are expected to attend the Margao workshop/ seminar, while 709 primary teachers will participate in the Sankhali event. In all, 940 primary teachers will be present at the Vasco workshop/ seminar, while 777 primary teachers are expected at the Ponda programme.
The heads of the concerned educational institutions have already been directed to depute their primary teachers, at the workshop/ seminar. The attendance to the particular event is compulsory.
