Porvorim grocery shops, super markets do brisk business



Grocery shops and super markets in Porvorim were all open on Friday, and did a brisk business.

No mad rush to buy essential commodities was seen in the area.

People were seen visiting supermarkets, grocery shops, milk booths, fish vendors and other outlets.

A big queue was seen in front of Delfino’s Super Market; people were seen standing under shamiyana, especially erected for over 120 customers to stand in a queue with sufficient social distancing.

There was a police supervision also , and  a batch of six persons was being allowed inside the super market at a time, with only 10 minutes to pick the items required.

The people were seen making purchases with the rest of the lockdown period in mind; they were buying essential items, including bakery items.

Vegetables were seen being sold at  roadsides in the morning as well in the evening in the area.
