Police break up anti IIT PC

An anti-IIT press conference was broken up by the police on Wednesday citing lack of permissions. The IIT is supposed to come up at Guleli.

The government has handed over 10 lakh square metres of land at Guleli in Sattari taluka for setting up an IIT in Goa.

Villagers of Melavli, Sattari under the banner of Melauli Panchkroshi Gram Bachav Angolan wanted to hold a press conference opposing IIT Goa proposed in the village.

Even before the PC started, the Valpoi police detained the members including its leader Shubham Shivolkar.
