VASCO- The state unit Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Jose Philip D’Souza has said that government should implement the total lock down in the state without compromising on the health of the people.

D’Souza while speaking to this daily has informed that “Chief Minister Pramod Sawant should not bow down to the pressure of anybody, risking the lives of the people. The strict implementation of lock down is the need of the hour which only can prevent the novel Corona virus (Covid-19) spreading.

He however advised the government to quarantine people who have come down to Goa from abroad in the recent days. “As there are more chances of getting infected from these people, the government should make arrangements to provide quarantine facilities in order to prevent spreading disease among the people and neighborhood”, said D’Souza.

He maintained that total lock down is the only solution to protect from the dreaded and life threatened disease. “The Chief Minister should not compromise on the health of the people and should revert the decision which was taken on Thursday to keep open grocery shops throughout the state”, informed D’Souza. He was of the opinion that the state government should make arrangement to supply grocery to the door steps.
