Dermatologists from various parts of the world were present in the state last week for the 8th World Congress of the Dermatologic and Aesthetic Surgery International League (DASIL). It was a three-day event held between October 30 and November 2 at Grand Hyatt, Bambolim and Victor Hospital, Margao.
Victor Hospital was the venue for all the surgical and non surgical workshops held during the conference. Surgeries such as liposuction, fat grafting, hair transplant and other non surgical procedures under the supervision of Dr Mohan Thomas (aesthetic surgeon) and other coordinators were undertaken and beamed live for more than 100 delegates who were at the hospital on October 30 2019.
Later during the event, the hospital was presented with a medal of honor for hosting the workshops. The medal was presented by Dr Michael Gold, founder and mentor, DASIL to Pearlie Mascarenhas, unit head, Victor Hospital in the presence of Dr Venkataram Mysore and Dr T Salim.
DASIL is not for profit society and its mission is to educate members and engage likeminded societies around the world in aesthetic and dramaturgical fields. The Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL) together with Dr Gold were instrumental in bringing the conference to Goa.
