Panaji : More than 9,000 delegates have registered in various categories for the golden jubilee edition of the International Film Festival of India, with the annual film event all set to be inaugurated on November 20.
Coming out with this information, the Entertainment Society of Goa mentioned that the festival authorities launched the delegate counters on Sunday at the festival venue.
“All registered delegates can collect their festival access cards and delegate kits from these well-stationed kiosks,” the ESG said, adding that the online registration process for IFFI was initiated on September 1, 2019 and since then near 10,000 delegates in various categories have registered.
The nine-day film festival will open with the Italian film ‘Despite the Fog’ and close with the Iranian movie ‘Marghe and Her Mother’ on November 28.
German romantic drama ‘Traumfabrik’ narrating the story of a young man trying to reunite with his love after being separated by the construction of the Berlin Wall in 1961 is the Mid-Fest Film.
“Following an application process, which was subject to approval and then payment, the confirmed delegates were extended an invite to the festival,” the ESG press note said.
“Seven delegate counters located in an air-conditioned hangar at
Kala Academy has been designed to make the kit collection process smooth and hassle-free for delegates,” the ESG press release said, maintaining that the counters have been allocated category-wise, with two counters each for the professional and cine-enthusiast category.
Further student delegates, senior citizens and the specially-abled have been assigned one counter each.
“The counters will be manned by well-trained festival executives to services the delegates,” the ESG said, pointing out that the delegate counters will also have POS payment systems for that delegate who were unable to pay online or via DD, to enable spot payment.
The counters will open at 10 am, and will be operational from 8 am to 8 pm on all days.
“Post a well-thought festival planning stage, the festival authorities – Entertainment Society of Goa and directorate of film festivals, ministry of information and broadcasting – look forward to a smooth execution of the 50th Edition of IFFI,” the press note observed.
