One more person tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) on Saturday in Goa, taking the tally of active cases of the dreaded virus in the state to 39.
Health Secretary Nila Mohanan told a press conference in Panaji that the person who tested positive had arrived in Goa by a bus from Maharashtra.
She said the patient has been admitted to the Margao-based designated COVID hospital and his health condition is reported to be ‘stable’. Till date, Goa has seen 55 confirmed COVID-19 cases of which 16 patients have recovered from the disease.
As per the directorate of health services (DHS) media bulletin, four new suspected cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Goa on Saturday.
The DHS informed that of the 610 samples drawn for examination on Saturday, 572 tested negative, one tested positive while reports of the remaining 37 samples are awaited.
The DHS said that at present some 340 people have been quarantined at various residencies and hotels across the state while there are also 356 interstate domestic travellers placed under home quarantine.
