The NSS unit of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Panaji celebrated the National Youth Week on January 10 to commemorate the birthday of Swami Vivekananda.
The programme commenced on a musical note with NSS volunteers singing “Heal the World” and thereafter offered floral tributes to the portrait of Swami Vivekananda. Professor Datta Naik, author and lecturer was the chief guest for the function who delivered a lecture on the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. Naik unfolded many mysteries and nuances related to the life of Swami Vivekananda which was followed by a PowerPoint presentation on the philosophy of Swami Vivekananda.
A quiz was conducted on the life and achievement of the youth icon which generated vibrant response. The programme was graced by principal, Fr Savio Gomes, secretary of Swami Vivekananda Society, Arvind Wagh and Ex IIT Alumini and past pupil of Don Bosco High School Dinar Bhatkar. The programme was a part of a weeklong celebration that included a series of morning talks and essay writing competition dedicated to the life of Swami Vivekananda. The programme ended with the singing of the National Anthem.
