The national working president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J P Nadda, who met his party’s MLAs and ministers from Goa on Friday evening, assured them that he would look into the Mhadei matter as well as the mining issue, and resolve them to Goa’s satisfaction.
Nadda, who is in Goa, attended a joint meeting of his party MLAs, ministers and members of the BJP’s core team for the state.
The issue of forming a mining corporation to restart mining in the state was also discussed during the meet. The state BJP MLAs favoured formation of the mining corporation.
“We discussed Mhadei and mining issue with Nadda ji. The Centre will come out with a solution,” Chief Minister Pramod Sawant informed the pressmen after the meeting.
“MLAs have expressed their concern to Nadda ji over decline of tourism in the state,” said the Minister for Waste Management Michael Lobo after the meet.
“MLAs expressed concern over tourism decline and stated that Goa needs funding from the Centre or special financial package,N Lobo added.
“The MLAs further told him that the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change should stop giving Mhadei-related letters to Karnataka, and he assured that the Centre will come out with solution to all these issues,” Lobo stated, adding that the Chief Minister has also explained to Nadda ji that many letters have been given to Centre in this regard.
