VASCO: The Mormugao Port Trust (MPT) has started a joint survey of structures at Khariwada shore from Thursday. The survey will continue for a couple of days.
As per available information, the MPT authorities are carrying out the survey with the help of staff from Mormugao mamlatdar office and others in the presence of police personnel.
“The survey of structures has commenced from Khariwada fishing jetty and it will continue till the Khariwada crematorium,” said superintendent of engineer, MPT (civil department), Mehboob Idalgi.
He said that “as per directions given by the High Court of Bombay at Goa, the district collector, south, has given instructions to MPT to conduct survey of the structures along Khariwada seashore. The identification of each and every structure, plotting, preparation of sketch, drawings and numbering are being done by Mormugao mamlatdar staff.”
He said that the report of the survey will be forwarded to the district collector through the office of the mamlatdar, which will be submitted to the High Court of Bombay at Goa.
He claimed that “people from Khariwada are cooperating and coordinating with the authorities as regards the survey of the structures.”
Mormugao mamlatdar Satish Prabhu, joint mamlatdar Ravishekhar Nipanikar, Vasco PI Nilesh Rane, police sub-inspector Diago Gracias, talathis Anuraj Gawas and Rohidas Parab, circle inspector Vithu Kharvat were present among others during the drive on Thursday.
