Misappropriation case: accounts assistant remanded to 4-day police custody

Margao: The Margao police, on Sunday, informed that the accounts assistant of a private firm, who was arrested for alleged criminal breach of trust, was produced before court, and she has been remanded to 4-day police custody.

The police, referring to the particular complaint, said that the accounts assistant has allegedly misappropriated an amount of Rs16 lakh.

PSI Pradnya Joshi, who is investigating the case, had informed that the accounts assistant was booked under Section 408 and Section 418 of the IPC for the criminal breach of trust and cheating.

The complaint was lodged against the accounts assistant, following which inquiry was conducted and later offences were registered against her, said PSI Joshi, adding the amount involved is around Rs 16 lakh, and it appears that she failed to deposit the cash of the firm over a period of time.
