BJP state executive committee member and social worker Chandrakant Gawas has urged Minister for Urban Development Milind Naik to take up the ‘Golden Jubilee signature project’ in Vasco through Goa State Urban Development Agency (GSUDA).
Speaking to this daily, Gawas said that the work of the long-awaited Golden Jubilee signature project in Vasco was supposed to get started after laying of the cornerstone in March 2013, but the project has remained ‘grounded’ due to some technical reasons.
The project is meant to boost the revenue of the council.
“I request the Minister for Urban Development Naik to start the long-awaited project through GSUDA so that it can be completed without facing shortage of funds,” said Gawas. He has also decided to write to the director of municipal administration to fast-track the project so that it could be completed without any delay.
Meanwhile, Gawas also urged the Minister for Transport and Panchayats Mauvin Godinho to give attention to issues like sewerage connectivity, regularisation of houses and water woes in New Vaddem.
“People in New Vaddem have big expectations from Godinho where he can resolve issues as regards sewerage connectivity, regularisation of houses and water woes which are being faced by the people. Goidnho should get these issues resolved so that people can heave a sigh of relief,” he said.
He also highlighted about irregular collection of garbage in New Vaddem.
“The councillors need to pay immediate attention to this issue as they represent the people from their respective wards,” Gawas stated. He also urged the elected representatives to give attention to repairs of internal roads which are lying in bad shape.
