Marathi films see ray of light at IFFI 2017

Marathi film actress, director and writer, Mrinal Kulkarni has expressed her desire to shoot her third film in the port town of Vasco giving Goan artistes an opportunity to display their talent.

Kulkarni inaugurated the screening of the first Marathi movie ‘Yellow’ as part of 48th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) at 1930 Vasco, K Sera Sera Miniplex.

The inauguration was held in the presence of managing director NRB Group, Nana Bandekar; Mormugao municipal council chairperson, Deepak Naik; chief officer, Agnelo Fernandes; Nayana Bandekar; Ramesh Parsekar; Yashodhara Talkar and others.

Speaking further, Kulkarni said: “This year Goa has given me a great opportunity to visit Vasco city and inaugurate the screening first Marathi film at 1930 Vasco, K Sera Sera Miniplex.”

Kulkarni said she was happy that nine Marathi films have been considered for screening at IFFI this year. Indian Panorama films from the previous editions of IFFI will be screened at K Sera Sera Miniplex, Vasco and Inox, Margao. The same will be free of cost from November 21 to November 28 for those who are 18 years old and above.
