Damodar English HS, St Mary’s HS move ahead

PARODA: Damodar English HS, Gudi-Paroda and St Mary’s HS, Varca moved into the second round of 2nd Ramnath D Volvotkar memorial inter school football tournament, organised by “Insight” The Society for Sports, Culture, Youth Affairs & Charity of Gudi Paroda, at Gudi-Paroda ground, on Saturday. In the first match, Damodar English HS defeated Holy Cross Institute, Quepem 3-0 with Omkar Gaonkar, Mohammad Sohid and Rohan Gaonkar being the goal scorers. In the second match, St Mary’s HS defeated Mae Dos Pobres HS, Nuvem as they rode on a fine brace by Wilson Baa, who was eventually adjudged the man of the match.

Billiards sessions at Bambolim

BAMBOLIM: Billiards and Snooker Association of Goa will conduct billiards training sessions at Cue Sports Academy, Athletics stadium, Bambolim from July 28 to August 4. Suresh XI, Gopalkrishna advance to quarters

MARDOL: Suresh XI, Marcel and Gopalkrishna SC, Khandola progressed to quarterfinals of Mardol Cup football tournament after registering wins in their respective matches played at Mardol ground on Saturday. In the first match, Suresh XI crushed FC Adhitya Mardol 6-0 courtesy a fine hat-trick by Pavan and a goal each by Mohit, Gauresh and Pranay. In the second match, Gopalkrishna SC got the better of Mix Friends, Panchawadi 5- 2 via tie-breaker. The teams were involved in a 1-1 draw during the regulation time with Auresh scoring for Gopalkrishna and Ivan equalising for Mix Friends.

Bridge finals at Miramar today

MIRAMAR: Poddar Housing, Mumbai and Hemant Jalan, Kolkata will face off in the final of KK Modi Gold Trophy Bridge tournament, being played at the Gaspar Dias Club, Miramar. In the semifinal matches played on Saturday, Poddary Housing team beat Samadan team, while Hemant Jalan’s team beat Promila Saraf’s Delhi team.
